NCH Philippines Inc. was initially organized as a joint venture of NCH Corporation (65%) and Jardine Davies Inc. (35%) on August 8, 1968. It was then named Chemsearch Philippines Inc. and was managed by Jardine Davies. Production at that time was subcontracted to a JDI subsidiary, DFE Chemical Corp., while JDI's Trading Division distributed both the Chemsearch and Certified divisions' product lines to dealers.
In December 1980, the Philippine organization hired its first employee. With S.E.C. approval in July 28, 1981, its name was changed from Chemsearch Philippines to NCH Philippines, thereby not identifying it with only one of its brand divisions. And in May 1983, its parent company bought Jardine Davies'es share of ownership of the corporation making it a wholly owned subsidiary.
During this period, nationwide sales of Chemsearch products were coursed through an exclusive distributor. Certified products on the other hand were distributed through a network of regional dealers throughout the country.
The organization's "parent company" is NCH Corporation. It has been in existence since 1919, having progressed from a sole proprietorship established in Dallas, Texas to one of the world's largest chemical specialty manufacturing and sales company, located in 2727 Chemsearch Boulevard, Irving, Texas 75015, U.S.A.
The company has been extended by NCH Corporation the exclusive right to use its formulations and technical data; for the manufacture of a wide range of preventive chemical specialty maintenance products; for applications as institutional and industrial solvent-based and water-based cleaners and degreasers, floor care, metal working coolants, lubricants, housekeeping, electric motor and contact cleaners, boiler and cooling water treatment chemicals, coatings, disinfectants, insecticides and many other products that help its customers maintain their equipment and facilities. It is also the Philippine distributor for products manufactured in the U.S. by NCH Corporation. These are supplied to industrial plants, construction, utilities, transportation and institutions such as hospitals, hotel, schools and other government and non-governmental end-users.
Until mid 1989, the company had a service agreement with a local manufacturing company whereby it undertook services related to the manufacture of the company's products in accordance with the information, advice and technical assistance and supervision provided by NCH Philippines. During the same year, the company established its own manufacturing plant along Ortigas Avenue Extension, Cainta, Rizal and had terminated as well its manufacturing service agreement with the said company.
NCH Philippines now has about 100 employees and increasing. Besides its plant and operations office located in Cainta, its main sales office is housed at 7th Floor Suite 705 West Tower Phil. Stock Exchange Center Exchange Road, Ortigas Center Pasig City. It has two (2) branch sales and operations offices in the cities of Mandaue and Davao. Its sales and assets had remarkably grown over the past years even when both political and economic conditions of the country were at their worst in the early and mid-80's. Because of the support extended by its parent company and the confidence of its customers in its products and services, NCH Philippines not only survived the crises but also continued in its growth.
Immediately after Chemsearch terminated its exclusive distributor agreement with a chemical marketing company in December 8, 1988 its brand is handled by the division’s own sales force. Certified on the other hand started direct selling way back in 1983. In March 1995, a third division, the Mantek Division has been established and sells the Mantek line of specialty chemical products. This Division was formally introduced during the company's Grand Awards Night held on April 7, 1995 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Makati, Metro Manila. Because of the company’s commitment to continuously provide the market with high-quality water treatment products for cooling, boiler and wastewater systems, the company introduced in April 1997 the Chem-Aqua Division. During the same year, Telesales Division was instituted to improve communications and provide better services to NCH field sales persons and customers. In May 2006, Telesales was transformed to Call Center Division to expand territory coverage and provide quick communication with their respective customers.
In August 25, 1995, NCH Corp. established its Regional Headquarters in the Philippines. NCH Corp., Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters basic responsibilities are to supervise and improve communication and coordination between NCH Corp., Dallas, Texas and the affiliates and subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific Region. Having achieved its goal, the Regional Headquarters was closed in February 2001.
